BLENNZ Auckland North – Manager
Permanent Full-time Position
(3MU + SDA + APURT)

Are you passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in the lives of ākonga who are blind, deafblind or have low vision?
BLENNZ seeks an experienced professional leader and manager with proven expertise, to lead a teaching team who provide quality learning and teaching to ākonga (birth to 21 years) who are blind, deafblind or have low vision and who live in the Auckland North West region.
This position requires a New Zealand registered teacher who has the ability to establish excellent working relationships with ākonga, parents, whānau, teachers, professionals and sector partners.
About the Role
As an RTV, you will work collaboratively with schools, whānau, and transdisciplinary teams to ensure that ākonga with vision impairments have equitable access to the curriculum and school life. Your role will include:
- Assessing and supporting the educational needs of blind, deafblind and low vision ākonga.
- Supporting teacher development in working with vision-impaired ākonga as inclusive practice.
- Supporting access to adaptive technologies and learning resources, with openness to learning and professional development in this area.
- Working successfully as part of a team is a key component of this itinerant position.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from qualified teachers who have:
- Experience in working with ākonga with vision impairments (desirable, but not essential)
- Demonstrated ability to develop excellent working relationships with parents, family/whānau and educators.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to inclusive education and equity.
- Willingness to undertake specialist post graduate training in vision education.

BLENNZ Homai Campus – Learning Assistant
Term time only
5 hours per day, 5 days per week
We are excited to invite two enthusiastic and motivated Learning Assistants to join our supportive and passionate team at Homai Campus School and our James Cook High School satellite class.
In this rewarding role, you will work alongside dedicated teachers to support students who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision, and who may also have additional learning needs. You’ll play an important part in helping our ākonga access learning, build confidence, and thrive both socially and academically.

- A willingness to learn and work collaboratively as part of a team
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with diverse needs
Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential—we value the right attitude and a commitment to making a difference.
