Our Term 3 Curriculum Day focused on practical learning and connection. Students began with Braille Lego activities, building names and sentences while strengthening their Braille skills.

Alana, our Developmental Orientation and Mobility Specialist, then taught strategies for pouring liquids safely, with students practising by making hot chocolates and preparing fruit.

At lunchtime, everyone created their own pizzas, learning independence and choice-making. While pizzas cooked, the group joined Sport Tasman at Salisbury School, taking part in activities using the Blind Sport NZ accessible kit to build coordination and confidence through movement.

The day finished with free-choice activities such as Braille code-cracking, memory games, and UNO. It was a day of hands-on learning, skill development, and collaboration, leaving everyone looking forward to the next Curriculum Day.
