To support this, we organised Inservice Days for staff working with these learners. One session was held at our centre, attended by 20 educators from a range of settings, including early childhood, primary, and secondary schools, along with teacher aides and SENCOs.
A further seven staff attended a similar inservice in Gore. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants praising the practical strategies and valuable insights gained.
Increased understanding of the daily classroom experiences of our ākonga has supported smooth transitions, and the careful planning by our small team proved highly worthwhile.
